arpeesee currently collects no data. Nothing you do in the app is sent anywhere. No telemetry, no analytics, no usage statistics. The app runs entirely on your machine.
We may introduce optional crash reporting and runtime diagnostics in future versions to help identify bugs. If we do, it will be opt-in, clearly labelled, and this policy will be updated before it ships.
The extension intercepts gRPC-web and Connect RPC calls made by your browser and forwards them to the arpeesee desktop app running on your machine at localhost:8787. That's the only place your network traffic goes. It does not leave your machine.
The desktop app receives intercepted calls from the extension, decodes them using your local .proto files, and displays them. Captured calls are stored in memory and cleared when the app closes. Nothing is written to a remote server.
If you connect a GitHub account to load proto files from a private repo, your GitHub token is stored locally in ~/.config/arpeesee/ on your machine. It is never transmitted to us.
Future versions may include optional crash reporting or runtime diagnostics. Any such feature will be opt-in and clearly disclosed at the point of enabling it.
The optional MCP server exposes captured calls to AI coding agents running on your machine (Claude, Cursor, etc.) over stdio. You approve every connection. No data is routed through any server we operate.
arpeesee.com is a static site. We do not run analytics, advertising, or tracking scripts. We do not use cookies. Hosting infrastructure may log standard access logs (IP address, requested path, timestamp) for operational purposes — we don't use these for anything beyond keeping the site running.
Donations are handled by Ko-fi. If you donate, your payment details are processed by Ko-fi and their payment provider. We receive the amount and your Ko-fi display name. We don't receive your card details. Ko-fi's privacy policy applies to that transaction.
